Heidi was born in Auckland and began dancing at the age of 4. Heidi trained at Mt Eden Ballet Academy where she completed all Royal Academy of Dance syllabus examinations including gaining the Solo Seal Award in 2003 at the age of 16. In that same year Heidi was the winner of the Sir John Logan Campbell Award and 1st runner up at the Alana Haines Australasian Awards. The following year she moved to Melbourne to join The Australian Ballet School.
In 2007 she became a corps de ballet member of The Australian Ballet and was promoted to Coryphee in 2011. In the ten years that Heidi danced with The Australian Ballet she performed in many classical and contemporary ballets and had the chance to work with renowned choreographers such as Graeme Murphy, Stephen Baynes and Alexei Ratmansky.
Highlights from her career include dancing as one of the cygnets in Graeme Murphy's Swan Lake, Canary Fairy in David McAllister's Sleeping Beauty and step sister in Alexei Ratmansky's Cinderella. Heidi has performed on stages all over the world including Tokyo, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai & London.
In 2017 Heidi decided to hang up her pointe shoes and move back to New Zealand. She has since been working towards finishing her Bachelor of Communication and is teaching ballet. She hopes to pass on her knowledge and passion of dance and inspire young New Zealanders to pursue a career in dance.
